Car has a total of 60,000 miles on the odometer. It was owned and towed by an RV person who put about 9000 miles on it over thirteen years and actually only drove it less than 2500 miles. It has a full 4 point rollcage. Seats were stripped, powder-coated and reupholstered in heavy-weight white vinyl by the Trim Shop in Arizona. The running boards were also stripped, powder-coated and new rubber applied by the Trim Shop. The Trim Shop also provided new glass side windows,(fronts w/ sliders);including vinyl storage bags for them, and the wooden 'duck- board', floor boards. They also provided a custom 'THING'car cover. Car has a professionally built towing system that pulls from the undercarriage, but tow bar attachments are convieniently mounted under the front bumper. The brake system was updated with the correct German brake drums and wheel cylinders, and brake pads. The upper and lower ball joints have been replaced with the correct German units as well as the steering damper. New tires front and back. The car was originally from California where it was installed with a complete rebuilt 'dual-port', 1600 cc engine in 1998, then moved to Seattle where I bought it last year. The engine has been routinely tuned-up, and the valves adjusted, along with the standard new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, etc. A higher out-put generator was installed. The exhaust pipes exit correctly thru the bumper openings. When I bought the car the seller also stated that it had an up-graded transmission. Transmission and clutch shift perfectly and make no noise. This car is virtually rust free. The floor pans are excellent, the usual battery rust out was cut out and repaired. The exterior paint has some small 'rock-dings' from the towing experience but it still looks good. The front windshield glass has some slight fogging at the corners, but it is hardly noticeable. The hardtop is OEM and in very good shape. A soft top frame comes with the car too. |
